"E1b1b1" became a widely used "phylogenetic" name for the clade also know as E-M215 with the publication of Karafet et al. (2008), replacing the older phylogenetic naming system whereby, "E3b1" was the equivalent of current "E1b1b1" which in mutational nomenclature is E-M35.
